Abia State Govt Reaffirms Commitment To Transform Aba Into Industrial Hub

The event held on Tuesday focused on partnership between government and frontline unloaders regarding threats, communication, and information management.

Governor Alex Otti stressed citizens’ role in securing Aba and Abia State, highlighting the city’s significant commerce and the need for safety.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State government, professor Kenneth Kalu emphasized that the workshop demonstrates government commitment to creating a decent society.

“Success comes when there is collective effort. Collective effort means everyone doing that which he or she should do, that’s the only way to make progress.

“We are committed to transforming Aba to that industrial hub which it should be. We are committed in word and action in rebuilding our state for the good of everyone. We sincerely desire for all of us to thrive,” Otti maintained.

Association of International Traders (AIT) President Prince Edmund Igwe expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for initiatives benefiting businesses, noting his administration had improved Aba’s business environment, ending decades of hardship for traders.

“The administration of Governor Alex Otti has brought to an end decades of hardship faced by businesses in Aba,” Igwe said.

Participants including Comrade Francis Azubuike, Chairman of Newlife Container Unloaders Aba, Gabriel Ogali, Chairman of Goodhope International Company, and Mr. Nwaibu Sylvester commended the workshop as innovative and first of its kind, saying it would enhance relations between government and unloaders and improve security in Aba and Abia State.

Comrade Azubuike noted the workshop would improve government-unloader relations and boost security.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, representatives from security agencies like the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Security Services (DSS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, underscoring the collaborative approach to security in the state.
