His publicist confirmed he passed away peacefully at his Sundance home in Utah, surrounded by loved ones.

Redford died on September 16, 2025, at his Sundance residence in Utah.

He rose to fame in the 1960s–70s with films like The Sting and All the President’s Men.

Won the Academy Award for Best Director for Ordinary People (1980).Founded the Sundance Institute and Film Festival, revolutionizing independent cinema.
