FG Is Giving Him Time, Watching How He Behaves; When His Actions Go Far, They’ll Know What To Do- Bako Slam El-Rufai
The Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of the Middle Belt Forum, Air Commodore John Bako (Rtd), during an interview with The Sun correspondent, stated that former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, had lost political value in the state. He warned that any political party or individual aligning with the former governor might risk failure in future elections.
When asked why the issue should not be confined to Kaduna State but extended to the Middle Belt and national politics, Bako explained that El-Rufai had completed his tenure as governor and was seeking a higher position at the federal level.
He noted that the former governor was even nominated for screening but failed the security test, which prevented him from securing a ministerial appointment. According to him, if El-Rufai had been appointed, he would not be making the kinds of statements he now makes.
Bako argued that his bruised ego had pushed him into bitterness, likening his conduct to that of a bull in a China shop, lashing out recklessly.
He stressed that the situation had to be handled with wisdom so that it did not cause greater damage, which was why he considered El-Rufai dangerous and cautioned that Nigeria must be careful.
When asked why he thought the government had not acted against El-Rufai, he said, “Maybe they are giving him time, watching how he behaves. Perhaps when his actions go too far, they will know what to do. But I am confident that at the right time, the authorities will act.”
