BREAKING NEWS: Missing FRSC Officer and Daughter Found Dead in Herbalist’s Home

The search for a missing Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her young daughter, Sewa, has ended in tragedy as their bodies were reportedly discovered in the residence of a suspected herbalist in Osun State.

Lasisi, a 38-year-old officer attached to the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, disappeared alongside her daughter on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Concerned family members and colleagues raised the alarm, and a missing persons report was filed at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on November 5.

Over the weekend, a source close to the grieving husband confirmed that the remains of the mother and child were found in the suspect’s home in an undisclosed Osun community. The shocking discovery has now placed Osun State at the centre of the fast-developing case.

Following the recovery of the bodies, police operatives arrested the herbalist’s wife, while the primary suspect—identified as her husband—has fled, prompting an intense manhunt. Investigators believe the fugitive may have played a central role in the killings, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D, has ordered a comprehensive investigation and directed homicide detectives to collaborate with their counterparts in Osun State to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
According to him: “The loss of an officer and her child in such disturbing circumstances is unacceptable. We will pursue every lead to uncover the truth and bring all responsible individuals to justice.”

The gruesome incident has thrown the FRSC community in Abeokuta and residents of the victims’ neighbourhood into deep mourning, with many struggling to comprehend the horrifying revelations.

Police have urged members of the public with credible information on the whereabouts of the fleeing herbalist to come forward as the probe intensifies.
