JUST-IN: Father of Skeem Saam Actress Confesses in Court Over Mother and Grandmother’s Murder

William Manku, father of Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku, made a shocking confession in the Polokwane High Court on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, admitting involvement in the murders of his ex‑wife, Gladys Manku, and her mother, Lettie Maphothoma.

The double murder, which occurred in May 2021, left the nation stunned when the 45‑year‑old and 70‑year‑old were shot dead in their home in Makgophong Village, Limpopo. Three suspects were arrested in early 2024 in connection with the killings.

During the trial, a magistrate read Manku’s written confession in court. According to the statement, he provided the information in an effort to help his girlfriend who was also arrested last year secure her release, claiming she did not know about the plot.

The confession reportedly details how Manku spoke to a group of men about problems at home and accepted advice to have his mother‑in‑law killed. He identified a man who agreed to carry out the killings but could not recall the agreed fee.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, and the court will continue to determine sentencing and the final outcome for all accused.
