North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, has criticised former United States President Donald Trump over tensions involving Iran, claiming Washington often confronts nations it perceives as weaker.

In a statement circulating on social media and attributed to the North Korean leader, Kim argued that the United States avoids provoking countries it considers militarily powerful.

“If Donald Trump fights Iran today, it is because he believes that country cannot stand up to him. That is why he does not dare provoke my country, North Korea, nor China, nor Russia, because he knows very well our power and our missiles,” Kim was quoted as saying.

Kim also claimed that his country possesses the military capability to strike the United States if necessary.
“We are capable of making all of the United States disappear with a single missile,” he said, adding that conflicts are often directed at countries perceived to be unable to respond.

The North Korean leader further suggested that Iran has the capability to retaliate against the United States but refrains due to the potential loss of civilian lives.

“But if Iran truly wanted, it could bombard a large part of America. It is simply that they fear causing the death of a very large number of American civilians,” the statement added.

Kim concluded by stressing that genuine national strength should be measured not by threats but by commitment to peace and respect for human life.

“The true greatness of a country is seen in peace, justice and respect for human life,” he said.
