Last night, the president once again mocked California Governor Gavin Newsom for admitting he struggles with a learning disability, as so many millions of Americans do.

It was a cruel and enormously petty show of ableist bigotry unbecoming of a president and a human.

Jennifer Siebel Newsom filmed a video response to Trump taking him to task for his hateful words, and it’s a must-see.

“I just witnessed Donald Trump’s comments about learning disabilities and my husband, Gavin Newsom, and I honestly had to take a beat.

Suggesting that someone with dyslexia or any learning difference for that matter is somehow less capable of leading or achieving is extremely ignorant and offensive.

Dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence. In fact, quite the contrary. And learning differences do not determine someone’s potential.

On the contrary, some of the most successful leaders in business and the world have dyslexia.”
