Former U.S. President, Donald Trump, has criticised member states of the NATO following reports that the alliance declined to support a U.S.-led military operation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a strongly worded statement, Trump said the United States had been informed that most NATO allies were unwilling to get involved in the ongoing operation targeting Iran.

“The United States has been informed by most of our NATO ‘allies’ that they don’t want to get involved,” he said, expressing disappointment despite what he described as broad agreement that Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

Trump described NATO as a “one-way street,” alleging that the U.S. spends heavily on the defence of allied nations without receiving equivalent support in return, particularly during critical moments.

He further claimed that U.S. military actions had already significantly weakened Iran’s capabilities, asserting that its naval, air, and defence systems had been “decimated.”

According to him, the scale of the reported military success means the United States no longer requires assistance from NATO or other allied countries, including Japan, Australia, and South Korea.

“Speaking as President of the United States of America… we do not need the help of anyone,” Trump added.See more, details. . full story
