Not surprisingly, the top spots went predominantly to the Nordic and Northern European countries that have robust public healthcare systems and leadership that has not devolved into all-out fascism.

Finland was named the happiest country in the world for the 9th year in a row, cementing a record. Iceland landed at number two with Denmark in third. Costa Rica was in fourth.

Israel found itself at Number 8 and once again, this is a country with universal healthcare. Meanwhile, Americans regularly go bankrupt from medical debt while their taxes are used to fight Israel’s wars and subsidize their military.
