A 25-year-old paraplegic woman from Barcelona, Noelia Castillo Ramos, has d+ed through euthanasia following a prolonged legal battle with her family.

Following the incidents, she suffered life-altering injuries after a fall that left her paralysed from the waist down and battling severe, chronic pain with no hope of recovery, according to medical reports.

Her case drew widespread attention as her father challenged her decision in court. However, after a lengthy legal process, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in her favour, allowing her to proceed with her request.

In her only televised interview, Noelia expressed her desire to end her suffering, stating she had been clear about her decision from the beginning. She also acknowledged that her family opposed euthanasia but questioned whether their wishes should outweigh her own experience of pain.

Her mother, Yolanda Ramos, had earlier expressed hope that her daughter might reconsider, while also pledging to remain by her side. The hospital confirmed that Noelia passed away on Thursday evening. Reports indicate she chose to spend her final moments privately at her care facility after saying her goodbyes to loved ones.
