JUST—IN: Israeli Army Radio Suggests Abu Obeida May Have Been Eliminated

Israel’s security establishment believes that Abu Obeida, the spokesman of Hamas’ military wing, has likely been eliminated in a recent operation, according to Israeli Army Radio on Monday.

Quoting senior Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officials, the broadcaster reported that an official announcement on the development is expected soon.

Military sources said Abu Obeida was far more than a spokesman, describing him as a senior figure within Hamas’ leadership structure who also played a key role in decision-making.

“His importance is twofold – because of his seniority within Hamas, and because of the psychological impact his elimination has on Hamas,” an IDF senior official was quoted as saying.
