Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has directed a multi-agency investigation into the explosion involving a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered bus at Mando Motor Park in Kaduna on April 5, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, preliminary findings point to a technical fault specifically the alleged overfilling of a gas tank rather than any security breach or explosive device.

The government described the incident as minor, with no casualties and no significant damage to property. Normal activities at the park have since resumed.

Governor Sani has mandated security agencies, technical regulators, and safety authorities to carry out a thorough probe into both the immediate and underlying causes. The aim is to strengthen safety standards for gas-powered vehicles and prevent future occurrences.
