If You Think You Must Beat Someone to Show Power, Then You Are a Fool — Seun Kuti Educates Nigerians

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has sparked reactions online after calling out what he described as a toxic mindset among some African men who feel the need to prove power through violence.

Speaking in a recent video, the outspoken musician warned that trying to show superiority after being offended does not prove strength but f+olishnes.

“Wait, make I talk. Some of you feel say, as an African man, if somebody offends you, you must show say you pass am. You go arrange boys, or you go arrange police, to b+at, to do this one. It doesn’t change shit, bro.”

He stressed that using force or intimidation does not solve anything, adding that such beliefs only d@mage society and relationships among Africans.

Seun went even further, saying anyone who believes beating others proves power is deeply mistaken.

According to him, the real problem lies in the lack of respect Africans have for one another, which he believes is damaging their collective mindset.
