The Plateau State Government has announced new security measures aimed at curbing rising tensions and ensuring safety across the state.
In a statement released by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the following directives take immediate effect from Wednesday, April 16:
1. Night grazing is strictly prohibited across all local government areas of the state.
2. Transportation of cattle is banned after 7:00 PM, with violators facing arrest and possible prosecution.
3. Movement of motorcycles is now restricted statewide between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM, as part of efforts to curtail criminal activities often linked to night-time mobility.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the decision followed consultations with security agencies and stakeholders. He urged residents to comply with the directives and support the government’s efforts to restore lasting peace.
Authorities have been instructed to ensure full enforcement of the measures. Security patrols are expected to be increased across affected areas. Continue>
