JUST-IN: Army Lance Corporal Arrested over N4.9m Robbery
A serving member of the Nigerian Army, identified as Lance Corporal Chukwu Ebuka, has been arrested in Abia State for allegedly participating in a r+bbery operation that left a victim dispossessed of nearly N5 million.
In the video , the soldier, who is attached to the 14 Brigade in Ohafia, allegedly carried out the operation alongside two other accomplices. He was apprehended shortly after the incident by security authorities.
Items reportedly recovered from the suspect include two axes and a pair of handcuffs believed to have been used during the robbery.
In the video currently circulating online the soldier was being questioned by a superior officer, where he appeared visibly distressed while admitting involvement in the crime and pleading for mercy. In the footage, Ebuka repeatedly acknowledged that his actions were wrong.
“My action was wrong… it was not right,” he said during the interrogation.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the charges he may face.See more, details. .
