Abaribe Hails Supreme Court Verdict on ADC Leadership as Boost for Democracy
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has welcomed the recent judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria affirming David Mark as National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, describing it as a major milestone for both the party and Nigeria’s democracy.
Reacting to the ruling, Abaribe said the decision goes beyond settling internal party disputes, stressing that it reinforces the rule of law and strengthens democratic institutions at a time when public confidence in governance and the judiciary remains under scrutiny.
The Abia South lawmaker commended the judiciary for what he called a principled stance, noting that such rulings are essential for safeguarding Nigeria’s multiparty system, especially as momentum builds towards the 2027 general elections.
