Finally, Casemiro Agrees to Join Inter Miami After World Cup
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has reportedly agreed to join Inter Miami following the 2026 World Cup.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the former Manchester United star turned down interest from MLS and the Saudi Pro League to sign with the reigning MLS Cup champions. Casemiro left Manchester United as a free agent in June.
The deal is not a designated player contract, as Miami has already used all three DP spots on Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Germán Berterame. Miami has been searching for a central midfielder since Sergio Busquets retired in 2025.
Casemiro’s arrival fills a crucial midfield gap left by Busquets’ retirement.
The non-DP deal shows Miami’s creative approach to managing salary cap constraints.
Other global stars like Lewandowski and Griezmann are also linked with MLS moves.
The signing strengthens Miami’s title defence in the upcoming MLS season.
Casemiro’s experience will be valuable for a team chasing more silverware.
Casemiro will join Miami after Brazil’s World Cup campaign. The Herons are building a formidable squad for next season.
