Activist Deji Adeyanju has said he considers himself “bigger” than former Anambra State Governor and NDC Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, arguing that he has made greater sacrifices for Nigeria, particularly in the struggle for democracy.

Speaking during an interview, Adeyanju said there was nothing personal about his disagreement with Obi, but claimed the former governor did not like him either. He alleged that people associated with Obi had ins¥lted and defamed him, adding that he would respond whenever he was att@cked.

“If you don’t like me and you send your aides to ins¥lt me, I will ins4lt you back. But I will not join issues with your aides. I’m bigger than his aides,” he said.

Adeyanju said he would not allow himself to be dragged to the level of Obi’s aides, insisting that he regarded himself as being on the same level as Obi.

He also defended his previous comments about Obi, saying everything he had said about the politician was true and that he was prepared to prove it.

Adeyanju questioned Obi’s contribution to Nigeria’s democratic struggle, arguing that being a governor was not enough to make him greater than people who had sacrificed for democracy.

“Has he ever made any sacrifice for the country that anybody shot at him, has military arrested him? What does he know about democracy that he’s enjoying? Does he even know what democracy is?” he asked.

Adeyanju said he had been arrested by the military and survived several attempts on his life because of his activism.

“I’m bigger than him because I’ve made more sacrifices for the country. I’ve almost been k+lled more than 17 times for democracy, fighting for democracy. What has he done?” he said.

The activist also questioned the source of the money allegedly used to establish a bank, asking, “The money they used to set up the bank, where did they get the money from?”
