Two SAPS Anti-Gang Unit Officers Killed In Reiger Park Ambush

Two SAPS Anti-Gang Unit officers were fatally shot in an apparent ambush while responding to reports of gunfire in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, on Friday evening.

The officers were part of a crime prevention team patrolling the area when they heard gunshots and drove towards the source. Police said they came under fire shortly after arriving at the scene.

Two women travelling in a Volkswagen Polo were also killed in the attack.

Specialised police units, including Crime Intelligence, the Tracking Team, Crime Scene Management, and the Hawks, have been deployed to investigate the killings.

No arrests have been confirmed, and the identities of the two officers have not yet been released. Police have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
