Atalanta Open Talks for 19-Year-Old Swedish Striker Charlie Rosenqvist
Italian club Atalanta have opened discussions with Kalmar FF over a possible move for 19-year-old Swedish striker Charlie Rosenqvist, according to transfer reports.
The Serie A club are understood to have identified Rosenqvist as a potential addition to their Under-23 squad, with initial discussions between the two clubs now underway.
Rosenqvist has emerged as one of Kalmar’s promising young players after progressing through the club’s academy. He made his senior debut for Kalmar in 2025 before earning a place around the first team.
The forward signed his first professional contract with Kalmar in March 2026, reportedly agreeing to a three-year deal.
Rosenqvist has also featured regularly in Kalmar’s senior side during the 2026 season. His performances have increased his profile, with reports previously linking him with interest from other clubs in Sweden.
Atalanta’s interest would represent another significant step in the teenager’s development, particularly given the Italian club’s focus on developing young players.
For now, however, no agreement has been reached. The discussions are understood to be at an early stage, and further negotiations will be required before any potential transfer can be completed.
The coming days could provide more clarity on whether Atalanta will make a formal offer for the Swedish forward or continue talks with Kalmar over a possible move.
