Michael Sanft, the 54-year-old attorney who defended Duane “Keffe D” Davis in the high-profile trial over the 1996 m¥rder of rapper Tupac Shakur, has d+ed in Las Vegas.

According to FOX5 Las Vegas, Sanft d+ed on Thursday night. However, the circumstances surrounding his de@th remain undisclosed.

Sanft served as Davis’ lead defence counsel and reportedly handled the case pro bono. Davis, a former leader of the South Side Compton Crips gang, was the only person ever charged in connection with Shakur’s k+lling.

In September, Davis was convicted of first-degree m¥rder and sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison.

Prosecutors maintained that he orchestrated the September 1996 drive-by sh%%ting, although he was not the individual who fired the fatal bullets.

The case attracted significant attention after investigators went decades without making an arrest. The prosecution’s case relied substantially on Davis’ own statements, including revelations in his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend.
