“I Feel Bad About Not Playing at the World Cup”- Osimhen Laments Super Eagles’ Failure
Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has revealed he is still struggling to come to terms with Nigeria’s absence from the 2026 World Cup. Speaking during a live Twitch broadcast, the Galatasaray forward said, “I feel bad about not playing at the World Cup. This is the second time in a row.
I was talking with the other guys, and they feel the same way too, but that is life, we move on.” Nigeria lost to DR Congo in a heartbreaking playoff on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
This marks the second consecutive World Cup the three-time African champions have missed.
Nigeria has now missed two World Cups in a row, a painful reality for a football-loving nation.
Osimhen scored eight goals in qualifying but could not single-handedly carry the team.
The defeat on penalties to DR Congo was a cruel way to miss out on the tournament.
The entire federation must now rebuild as they prepare for the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria’s absence removes one of Africa’s biggest football giants from the tournament.
Nigeria must now reset and rebuild for the 2030 World Cup. The journey to redemption begins now.
