Armed Bandits Kill 7 Villagers in Katsina’s Matazu LGA Fresh Attack

Armed bandits have killed seven villagers in Sayaya village, Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, in an early morning attack on Thursday. Residents said dozens of armed men stormed the community, firing sporadically.

Those killed included farmers, traders, and a mentally ill man. Residents alleged the attack was led by notorious bandit Kachallah Fulani Muhammad, who they also accused of orchestrating the abduction of late retired Major-General Rabe Abubakar.

They also claimed the attack followed the withdrawal of troops deployed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

Seven villagers, including a mentally ill man, were killed in the attack.

Residents alleged the same bandit who abducted General Rabe was responsible.

The attack came after troops reportedly withdrew from the area.

The Katsina State Government had recently imposed security measures in the area.

The police have yet to confirm the incident.

Residents fear further attacks. The police are yet to verify the incident, and many families have fled the community.
