Terrible Panic Among Residents And Business Owners As Fire Razes Building In Ketu, Lagos
A building located on Biola Street in the Alapere area of Ketu, Lagos State, was engulfed by fire on Friday, triggering panic among residents and business owners in the neighbourhood.
The fire, which sent thick plumes of smoke into the sky, attracted scores of residents as emergency responders raced to the scene to contain the inferno and prevent it from spreading to adjoining buildings.
Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were said to have arrived promptly after receiving a distress call and immediately commenced firefighting operations.
Eyewitnesses said firefighters battled the blaze for several minutes in an effort to stop the flames from consuming nearby structures.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had yet to be determined, while the extent of damage to the affected property remained unclear.
