FGN Increases Scholarships Grants Across All Levels

The Federal Ministry of Education has raised scholarship grants by 50% under a reformed National Scholarship Programme, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

New Rates:
•PhD – ₦750,000/year (up from ₦500,000)
•Master’s – ₦600,000/year (up from ₦400,000)
•Undergraduate/HND/NCE – ₦450,000/year (up from ₦300,000)

New Additions:
•₦1bn fund for STEMM & vocational students in polytechnics
•₦1bn fund for medical & allied health students in public universities

Allocation: 50% undergraduate, 25% master’s, 25% PhD, with 70% for STEMM and 30% for social sciences. Five percent is reserved for students with disabilities.

Over 15,000 students are expected to benefit in 2025–2026, with a ₦6bn budget managed by the Federal Scholarship Board and an Inter-Ministerial Committee.
