In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of the 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP), the Army disclosed that the latest operations were part of ongoing efforts to deny bandits freedom of action in the Joint Operations Area (JOA).

According to the statement, on September 16, 2025, troops of 3 Division/JTF OPEP launched an intelligence-driven ambush along routes leading to Odare Forest at Dutsen Zaki, Wase LGA.

During the operation, soldiers intercepted a group of bandits mounted on motorcycles.

“Troops made contact with the bandits and neutralised one of them, while others fled with severe gunshot wounds through the thick forest,” the Army said.

Troops subsequently searched the area and recovered a motorcycle, two mobile phones, one machete, and charms abandoned by the fleeing criminals. The recovered items are currently in military custody for further action, and..  Read . .More …
