Army Neutralises Kidnapper, Rescues Abducted Farmer in Edo After Ransom Trap

Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, have rescued a 50-year-old farmer, Lucky Egbiki, who was abducted from his farm in Okehussan, Ubiaja, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The operation, conducted on August 6 under Operation KO SALO, saw security forces lure the kidnappers to a predetermined location at Onogholo during a ransom negotiation.

One of the suspects who arrived to collect the ₦1.5 million ransom was reportedly neutralised, forcing other members of the gang to abandon the victim and flee into the surrounding forest.

Egbiki was rescued unhurt and later reunited with his family after medical assessment, while troops have continued clearance operations to track the fleeing suspects.
