The National Economic Council (NEC) has approved N100 billion for the comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrading of training institutions for the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, pending final approval by President Tinubu

The decision was based on the report and recommendations of an ad hoc committee set up to evaluate the current state of security training facilities across the country.

During its 154th virtual meeting on Wednesday, NEC also approved N2.6 billion for consultancy services related to the project.

The initiative originated from President Tinubu’s directive at the 152nd NEC meeting in October, where he called for a complete overhaul of security agencies’ training institutions nationwide.
