“The Trump administration has chosen denial, repealing critical protections that are foundational to the federal government’s response to climate change. We will not let the federal government abandon its responsibility to the people,” James stated in a press release.

Jame’s legal coalition is composed of 40 states as well as other, smaller groups. They’re aiming to overturn the disastrous decision by Trump’s EPA to repeal the 2009 endangerment finding, which formed the foundation of much of our climate regulation legal architecture.

The repeal of that finding — which held that greenhouse gases are a danger to public health and the environment — has long been an objective of the oil companies who helped foist Trump into power.

They’ll deny science and gladly burn the world to the ground if it means increased profits for them in the short term.

James filed her legal petition in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. as well as in California, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. See more, details. .
