The State of Minnesota just filed a federal civil lawsuit against the Trump administration, demanding that it turn over all investigative records related to the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti during “Operation Metro Surge.”

Minnesota is asking a federal judge to issue an order forcing the administration to hand over the materials.

The lawsuit specifically asks the court to declare that the Trump administration’s “policy of refusing to share investigative materials with Minnesota authorities concerning the federal officer-involved shootings” is “arbitrary and capricious.”

This is a direct challenge to the administration’s secrecy surrounding the two deadly shootings of American citizens by federal agents. State officials say they need the records to conduct their own investigation and hold those responsible accountable.
