Troop Rescues Abducted Officer In Delta After Joint Operation

Josiah was reportedly kidnapped from his lodge in Bomadi on Sunday, September 7, and taken into the creeks of Burutu local government area.

In a statement on Tuesday, Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, spokesman of 63 Brigade, said the officer regained freedom on September 9 after “meticulous planning, intelligence gathering, and collaboration” with community leaders.

“This synergy enabled the troops to track down the abductors and rescue the senior officer at Tuomor Waterside in Bomadi LGA on September 9, 2025,” Rijau said.

He added that Josiah sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and had been evacuated to a medical facilit,y where he is receiving adequate care.

Rijau said MA Shonibare, commander of 63 brigade and sector Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, commended the troops for their bravery.
