Manchester United Set to Resume Talks With Brighton Over Carlos Baleba
Manchester United are expected to return to the negotiating table with Brighton & Hove Albion today as they step up efforts to sign midfielder Carlos Baleba.
United have been pushing to complete a deal for the Cameroon international, with negotiations between the two clubs continuing after an initial proposal was submitted.
Reports indicate that the Red Devils are increasingly confident of reaching an agreement for the 22-year-old midfielder, although the final transfer fee and structure of the deal still need to be settled.
Manchester United’s previous offer was reported to be worth around £60 million (€70 million), plus additional bonuses, but Brighton’s valuation remains an important factor in the negotiations.
Talks have nevertheless been described as amicable, with both clubs working towards a possible agreement.
Baleba has emerged as one of United’s major midfield targets as the club looks to strengthen the position ahead of the new season.
The midfielder joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 and has established himself as an important player for the Premier League club.
Sky Sports reports that a five-year contract is already prepared for Baleba, while the player is understood to be preparing to travel to Manchester for a medical once the clubs formally conclude the agreement.
For now, no final agreement has been officially announced, but negotiations are progressing and United are expected to make another push today.
