Diddy Reportedly Moved to Solitary Confinement After Prison Perks Allegations
Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been moved to solitary confinement at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey following allegations that he enjoyed special privileges while serving his prison sentence.
Reports citing accounts from four former inmates alleged that Combs had access to prohibited mobile phones and premium alcohol, while also paying other inmates for services including meals, laundry, massages and cleaning.
Combs was subsequently reported to have been transferred to the facility’s Special Housing Unit (SHU).
However, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed that the transfer was connected to the allegations or disclosed whether Combs is facing a disciplinary investigation.
Allegations of Special Treatment
The claims have renewed debate over whether wealthy or high-profile inmates can receive treatment that differs from the conditions experienced by other prisoners.
The former inmates’ accounts remain allegations and have not been independently established as findings by federal prison authorities.
The reports have nevertheless drawn attention to questions surrounding contraband controls, inmate supervision and the enforcement of prison regulations.
Diddy’s Prison Sentence
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following his conviction on federal prostitution-related charges.
His reported transfer to the Special Housing Unit could mean more restrictive conditions while prison officials assess his status, although the precise reason for the move has not been publicly confirmed by the Bureau of Prisons.
Further developments are expected to clarify whether the allegations have resulted in any formal investigation or disciplinary action.
