Troops of 202 Battalion in conjunction with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team have recovered and safely disposed of four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) discovered along a roadside in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the operation followed intelligence provided by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) at about 7:00 p.m. on May 6 regarding suspicious objects buried near the roadside at Juderi village.

The sources disclosed that troops stationed at Foxtrot 3 Bravo responded immediately and secured the area while the EOD team conducted a detailed scan of the general vicinity.

During the operation, four buried IEDs were detected, recovered, and subsequently disposed of safely to prevent harm to civilians and security personnel.

They added that clearance and counter-IED operations were being intensified across vulnerable corridors in Borno State as troops sustain pressure on terrorist elements operating in the region.

Residents were urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely information on suspicious movements or objects.
