Trump Blasts NATO, Calls Alliance ‘Paper Tiger’ Over Hormuz Dispute

U.S. President, Donald Trump, has sharply criticised the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, describing the alliance as ineffective without American support amid tensions over operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a strongly worded statement, Trump accused NATO allies of refusing to participate in efforts aimed at countering Iran, despite concerns over its nuclear ambitions.

“Without the U.S.A., NATO is a paper tiger,” he said, adding that allied countries declined to join what he described as a successful military effort.

Trump further alleged that while the conflict had been “militarily won,” NATO members were now complaining about rising oil prices without contributing to efforts to secure the Hormuz Strait.

“They complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.
