Limpopo businessman and drug activist Tsebe Phillimon Moloto, widely known as Mr Moloto, has been released on R50,000 bail after appearing in the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court on charges of malicious damage to property.

The 51-year-old, who owns the Limpopo Anti-Drug Gangsterism and Crime (LADGAC) Rehabilitation Centre, also briefly appeared in the Seshego Magistrates’ Court over one of the charges.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority, Moloto faces two counts of malicious damage to property linked to incidents involving his former romantic partner and business associate.

The NPA further alleges that Moloto later set fire to a signboard advertising the complainant’s new rehabilitation business in Ladanna.

Authorities estimate the total damage caused by the two incidents at approximately R800,000.

Moloto is well known on social media, particularly TikTok, where he gained popularity for removing people struggling with substance abuse from their homes for rehabilitation, often without their consent.

The case has been postponed until 22 September 2026 to allow police to continue their investigation.
